Norman Chambers, the NACFB’s longstanding managing director, shares a personal thank you.
It is with a very heavy heart that I will be stepping down as managing director of the NACFB at the end of this month, after the privilege of serving the Association for 11 years. The time is right for me personally, and for the business, to transition from the MD role. However, I am pleased to share that I will be joining the NACFB Board as a non-executive director in January.
Leading the team has been an incredible journey, and I am immensely proud of what we have accomplished together. While my tenure has certainly included challenges, these are far outweighed by the extraordinary highs. Among the many successes, two standouts are the continued growth of our annual Commercial Finance Expo and the creation of the NACFB Mutual.
A successful Association is built by the right people, and it is their dedication and hard work that have driven the NACFB forward. The unwavering support and commitment of the team make me incredibly proud to be part of this organisation. I am grateful for everything the staff has achieved, both personally and professionally.
The foundation remains strong, and I have every confidence in our team as they support our new CEO, Jim Higginbotham. I wish Jim every success as he leads NACFB into its next chapter.
To our Patrons, Partners, and friends across the industry, I remain as committed as ever to our people-led community. I’ve often said that our business is a ‘contact sport,’ and building on collaboration across all parties will only strengthen our community. I encourage you all to continue driving this momentum forward. Our history shows we thrive in the face of challenges, especially when we work together. I thank you all for the trust and support that have helped build a resilient trade body, and I look forward to continuing our work together.
My gratitude also extends to past and present board directors for their support and encouragement. I look forward to joining the board in 2025 and contributing from a new perspective.
Finally, to the Members of the NACFB – without your commitment and loyalty, the Association would not be where it is today.
With my very best wishes from a humble South Londoner, I look forward to our paths crossing again as I step into my new role as a non-executive director in 2025.
Norman
